Smashbox - L.A. Cover Shot Eye Palette |Review| ΕΝ

Smashbox is one of those companies that needs more attention in my humble opinion... Loved by most makeup artists, has cult followers and offers a wide range of cosmetics from base products to lipsticks and beauty tools...

If you have been following me for some time I am such a huge fan of the Cover Shot palettes and I reccomend them to anyone not only because of the quality but also for the vast colour combinations and the not so hefty price tag... It was only natural that when Smashbox announced the newer addition to the family I knew I had to gei it...

PACKAGING

Just like the previous palettes it's made by good quality hard plastic, has a magnetic closure and a mirror... In the front part there is a 3D image showing one of the L.A. beaches shifting from day to night... You will find the shade names on the back side of the packaging and lastly a full size eye pencil is included!!!

SHADES

Unlike the older ones that had 6 shades the L.A. contains 16 in a mix of mattes, shimmers and metallics... They are arranged in groups of 4 which makes it easier for you to create a look... Each quad has its own colour theme... So one has tropical hues, one is a warm rose gold, the third is more berry toned and the last one is the smoky themed...

Starting from the far left side you will find the following shades:

♥ Venice Peach: satin pale peach
 Westsider: matte teal
♥ Best Coast: mat pink with purple undertone
♥ #Sunset: matte coral

♥ There's Valet: matt coppery brown
♥ Drop Top: gold shimmer with warm undertone
♥ Almond: matte light brown
♥ Vanilla: matte yellowish cream

Moving right along on the third quad:

 Nectar: matte light beige
 Rose Bowler: rose gold metallic
  Canyon Copper: metallic copper
♥ Java: matte deep brown

  Hang: matte light greyish brown
 Platinum: metallic taupe
Eastsider: matte plum with gold shimmer
 Deco: satin champagne

OVERALL THOUGHTS

Despite Java and Hang that need muliple layers to show up on the lids all the other ones have really nice pigmentation and they blend super easily... Overall I find the L.A. palette to be very versatile since you have a number shades to work with and you can achieve a handfull of eye looks whether you like warmer, brighter or smokier makeup!!!

I would like to hear your thoughts on the newer Smashbox palette ladies!!! Let me know if you are going to try it and what's your favorite shade... Talk to you soon...

XOXO
.....Just your typical beauty sinner.....
