Too Faced – Pretty Rich Diamond Light Palette |Review| EN

Let me start my review by saying that there are two types of makeup addicts: those who utterly love glitter and those that despise it... Now if you're on the first camp then get ready to hit the market cause Too Faced launched a new palette and you need it!!!
We're talking for the most recent release that is inspired by the everglowing and stunning diamonds... As a matter of fact some eyeshadows are made in a way to immitate the shine of a girl's best friends...

PACKAGING

Like any Too Faced product the Pretty Rich palette has a beautiful case ressembling those for jewellery... In the most girly pink colour it also has a magnet closure with a heart shaped clasp... I wouldn't say it's travel friendly but then again not everything has to be...

EYESHADOW BREAK DOWN

The palette contains 16 never before seen shades and it is a mix of shimmers, metallics, mattes and glitters... According to the company the glitters have a revolutionary technology behind them... They are suspended in a gel for self-adherence in order to have less fall out...

The shades are layed out in such a way - in quads - that really educates the user on how to actually apply them... I've seen this technique on several palettes (i.e. Smashbox, Morphe) and I am very fond of it I must say!!! So there are four quads, the neutral one, the rose toned, the warm and the cool blue-greyish one...

Let's start with the neutral quad and move our way downwards...

♥ Diamonds 4 Breakfast: pale gold glitter (gel)
♥ Its Designer: matte creamy beige
♥ Fancy That: matte light brown
♥ Filthy Rich: deep copper with pink shift

♥ Clutch Your Pearls: shimmering white with lilac duochrome shift
♥ Princess Cut: rose gold shimmer
♥ Diamond Glitterati: pink glitter (gel)
♥ Highly Selective: deep mauve metallic

♥ Fluent in Diamonds: golde glitter (gel)
♥ Its Cashmere: matte caramel brown
♥ Dont Carat All: metallic gold with peachy undertone
♥ Oh, Thats Rich: matte chocolate brown

Coal Under Pressure: matte dark grey with holographic glitter
♥ Silver Spoon: metallic blue-grey
♥ Set the Jewel Tone: vivid shimmery blue
♥ Diamond Life: multi-coloured glitter (gel)

PERFORMANCE - THOUGHTS

Now let's get to the real talk... As a loyal fan of Too Faced I have to admit that the mattes and the metallics are creamy and blendable just like the older palettes... The pay off is pretty rich - see what I did there? :P - with the longevity to be quite good as well... They lasted for a good 6 hours before starting to fade considerably...

On the improved glitter consistency I have a few things to say... Although they were designed for less fall out in my opinion you still need a tacky base to ensure nothing moves after application... I almost always finish with my eye makeup before doing my face and with this particular palette removing glitter underneath the eye area was a bit hard I must admit... Lasly, what happens when the gel that contains the glitter dries out??? Upon touching it you get a slight wet feeling...

To sum everything up the company's try to launch a "new" glitter formula was a hit and a miss at the same time... Yes the thought of having a self-adherant glitter saves both time and product... On the other hand a glitter base is pretty mandatory imo... Like I said before the Pretty Rich palette is an ode to the glitter life so if your are mainly a matte gal you won't like it... To those of us though that anything sparkly makes us feel a certain type of way I say go for it... The quality of Too Faced eyeshadows is one of the best out there!!!

Have you tried it yet??? What are your thoughts??? Leave me a comment, subscribe to the blog I';; talk to you soon :)

XOXO
